Don’t Rent from Case & Associates …

Nightmare rental experience.

I have lived in an apartment for Case and Associates for 9 months. My lease was for 6 months. They’ve promised to fix stuff since I moved in there and have only done part of it once I called the health inspector. Then I called the health inspector and said they’re fixing things now so no need to come back out. He said call again if needed.

While all of this was going on I had neighbors that lived above me and their kids were hanging out with the wrong people. These people wrote bad words all over the buildings, sidewalks, chewed up chicken bones next to what the wrote, screaming at all hours of the night, trying to sell me and my neighbors drugs while we’re walking through the breezeway with children in our arms, leaving sexual items, clothing, shoes, and stuff in the breezeway that filled up with water, then puking on our doors and rugs we walk across every day at 1 a.m.. The apartments wouldn’t ever do anything about this until I started calling the police. The police started watching the property and finally some of it stopped. I told the apartments I wouldn’t sign another lease until these people were out and they would not ever confirm that they were kicking them out. This just states to me they’ll kick out a single Mom who pays her rent on time every month and keep the druggies in their apartments.

Finally, while living with all of this stuff, I told the apartments again, I wouldn’t sign another lease until they fixed the items I asked them to fix. Two months later they still hadn’t fixed my air conditioner(went all of July and August with no air conditioning-but my bill was still 200 a month), water coming in the front door from a clogged drain in my breezeway(ended up it was a baseball - the person that lived there before me said she had been trying to get this fixed for over 2 years-now how did they find out it was just a baseball now and not 2 years ago-they never checked it), the ceiling fan on my patio was swinging so hard I thought it was going to come through the windows on the patio, etc. Many other things…

I finally called the heatlh department back and they came out on a Monday. The apartments fixed every single thing I’ve asked them to fix since day one. Literally, as soon as they fixed everything they walked out and put a note on my door to get out within 30 days.

I had an attorney tell me they couldn’t give me a notice in the middle of the month they had to wait until the next month to give me a notice. I tried to go ahead and pay the rent and tell them I was staying for the rest of the month. They had already rented the apartment to someone else a day or two after they had given me notice to move out.

I told them they were putting a single Mom out on the streets with no place to live. Their exact quote by the Manager in Case & Associates Corporate Office was “That’s not my problem, I don’t care.” She didn’t even know that I had been requesting these items be fixed for months and months. She stated the Manager Kristi of Sugarberry apartments never told her any of this. Per Kristi I had called the office to ask that things be fixed for the first time on the Friday before that, then the health department just showed up Monday morning.

The only reason they could give me for kicking me out was (Exact Quote from Sugarberry Apartments Management) “I’m not going to state that you’re being given a notice because you called the health department, but you’re just not happy here, when one thing is fixed you call about another.” Told her I couldn’t help that as soon as they fixed the fridge, or something else the air conditioner went out.

When I did the walk through with her she stated it was in good enough condition that they wouldn’t charge me anything out of my deposit. She then started saying she will take out the last water bill, and that I still owed 16.00 on the water bill (which the office told me was my last water bill but wouldn’t put it in writing AGAIN), plus I owed her 33.00 for the next month’s water bill, etc, just more and more stuff that I supposedly owed her when I don’t. So you won’t get your deposit back anyway, no point in working your rear end off to clean an apartment for them.

Just an FYI before you rent anything from Case & Associates make sure you have everything in writing before you sign the lease.

I am now in a hotel which I can’t afford until I can find a place to live. Thanks Case & Associates and Sugarberry “Not So Luxury” Apartments!

Everyone should watch this video before they vote

This is 13 minutes long but it should be watched by every American before you vote. If you’re at work and can’t watch it at work then forward it to yourself at home and watch it there.

And you better vote! It’s important! I’m not jokin’ man. Consider this my e-mail to peer pressure you into voting. If you need a ride to go vote tell me and I’ll gladly take you or call someone close to you to take you. No excuses. If you have neighbors that can’t drive themselves to vote, TAKE THEM!

Again, IT’S IMPORTANT!

Track Your Bills Database!

I have created a database that makes tracking your bills so much easier.

Ok, so I don’t know how to add it on here. If you want a copy please feel free to e-mail me at lanez_2001@yahoo.com and I’ll gladly send you a copy.

It was created in Excel so you’ll need Microsoft Excel in order to use the database.

I hope everything is easy to understand. Just enter the information in the “Enter Your Info” page, then the only place you should need to enter information in from that point is the payments page.

Hope this might help some of you with your bills. It sure helped me.

Treadmill Repair… Do it yourself It’s not hard!

We don’t need our treadmills to give us ANY reason at all to not work out right? It’s already hard enough to get on the stupid thing, let alone have it give us fits!

Why take it somewhere else and have someone else do it or just sell your treadmill ’cause you don’t want to fix it. It looks like it is all pretty easily fixed on this web site. That’s totally cool of them to help people out. My belt is going to the left when the treadmill is on so I’m going to try this fix they said and see if it takes care of it or not. I’ll post with the results.

Two-adjustment bolt:

If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the safety key and unplug the power cord. Using the Allen wrench, turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt clockwise, and the right bolt counter-clockwise, 1/4 of a turn each. Be careful not to over tighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is centered.

I’ve decided I’m going to write a cook book!

One of my friends came over for an “Ugly Betty” party tonight. Yes, it’s a blast and what a great show to watch every week together! Love it!

Anyway, we were talking and she wants me to help her with cooking. I gave her her first lesson tonight which was what all the different cooking utensils do and some of the appliances. I think she learned a lot tonight so we’ve decided she’s going to start coming over and I’m going to teach her how to cook basic dishes like spaghetti, meatloaf, fried chicken, tuna caserole, main dishes that every woman should know how to cook. And it’ll be easy ’cause it’ll have all the tips in it. While doing this I’m going to take pictures of what we do and write a cook book with the basic things that she had no idea about and I didn’t either until I started learning from watching friends/family and the cooking channel. It’ll have totally detailed steps and tips about everything you’re cooking. We’ll see how far I get with this. LOL Hopefully it’ll work out and I can make a cook book and get on Martha Stewart’s show and help sell them? heheh :)

The sections will be:

Appliances
How to use crock pots, steamers, microwaves, woks, etc.
Utensils and Gadgets
What are the main utensils you need and what are the totally awesome gadgets that you need,
How use a strainer, or oven mits, things that you just don’t know until someone shows you.
What pans are used for what, what knives are used for what, etc.
Shopping
Know what to buy and how much to buy and how to save money, shopping lists
Breakfasts
Main things you need to know about cooking eggs, cinnamon toast, french toast, stuff like that
Meat dishes
Pork, Chicken, Hamburger, etc. Dishes made easy.
Pasta dishes
Total pasta dishes like spaghetti, fetuccini alfredo, homemade pasta, etc.
Kid dishes
Pizza, meatloaf cupcakes, and ideas on how to incorporate children into your cooking
Sides
The important side dishes and how to cook them just plain or give them a kick

It’s going to be simple things, nothing hard, no crazy stuff. And it’ll be a cookbook you would give to someone when you first start letting a child cook in the kitchen with you. Why not read a cookbook to your child? They’re just as interesting as story books and look at all the good stuff they’ll learn? Or even when your son or daughter goes off to college, or for a wedding gift, etc.

Yeah, soon as I find a new job with lots of money, and a fancy place to have mah shin digs at, I’ll start writing this book and get it goin’! Wish me luck with that.

Have a Hazy Dazy!

Ugly Salad … Oh no!

My salad came out ugly! Yikes!

OH NO, that’s not a good thing. Ugly salad is no fun at all. Still tastes great but it’s just not as appealing to look at.

I have a KitchenAid Pro 6 Qt white mixer. I have the vetetable slicer attachemnt. It’s supposed to make the perfect salad right? No… unless there’s just somethin’ wrong with mine. It made me ugly salad. I was going to also add in purple cabbage and some cheese but I figured I’d stop here and get some advice on it ‘fore I kept goin.

Any suggestions on things to do to use this attachment that’ll make the salad perty? :)

Here’s what it ended up looking like.

Ok, so like I went back to the fair today and talked to the guy. He said to buy an entire bag of taters and practice doing it ’cause it does take some practice to make it perfect every time.
